The NAACP's mission is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic quality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

-Who founded the NAACP and why?

The NAACP was created in 1909 by an interracial group including W.E.B. Du Bois, Ida Bell Wells-Barnett, Mary White Ovington, and others that were concerned with the tribulations facing the African American community.

-What has the NAACP accomplished?

The NAACP has played a significant role in transforming America to what it has become today. Using a combination of methods including legal challenges, demonstrations, and economic boycotts, the NAACP took a major role in ending segregation in the United States.
-What does the NAACP sponsorship mean?

The NAACP Clarksville-Montgomery TN Branch sponsorship to the CMC VA Project is allowing a solid base to encourage voter participation in the Clarksville community. It also gives a chance for everyone's voice to be heard when it comes to voting.
